Captain Shirogane
The Voltron and its crew is lead by The Pirate Captain Shirogane, known in stories and old fishwifes’ tales as “The Black Lion of the Seas”. Captain Shirogane has had a long history of life at sail (although not all of it necessarily as a buccaneer) but is new to this particular crew and ship. His scars are just a hint of a hidden past obscured behind the legends and stories of “The Black Lion of the Seas”. But to his crew, Captain Shiro is his loving and nurturing self, and he protects his crew at all costs with a ferocity that lives up to the nickname of ‘Lion’ and his title as ‘Captain’.
Pidge Gunderson
Next up is Pidge, The Voltron’s Sailing Master who’s in charge of the ship’s navigation and course. Pidge first joined the crew under disguise as a cabin-boy hoping to find answers about her father and brother who went missing on an expedition as part of the Royal Navy. However, the crew soon discovered Pidge’s true identity and her reasons for joining The Voltron. Despite this though, Pidge was already considered a valued and irreplaceable member of the crew by her fellow pirate mates.
Lance McClain
Lance is the ship’s Master Gunner, putting him in charge of maintaining all of the ships weaponry. From pistols to canons, Lance is an expert gunman and starting to make quite the name for himself as tales of “The Voltron’s Sharpshooter” travel the seas. Growing up on ships all his life and sailing alongside his family, Lance gained a lot of experience from an early age and was actually the first of The Voltron’s crew to become a pirate. And although he spends most of his time ‘acquiring’ booty, Lance has proven himself as a necessary member on The Voltron as he’s capable of covering for his crewmates wherever he’s needed and is always trusted to lighten spirits after a lousy pillage or during a nasty squall.
Keith Kogane
Keith, originally an all-purpose general matey on The Voltron, was soon appointed to First Mate by Captain Shirogane after a pillage was on the verge of going south. Despite being the least experienced on a ship, Keith’s endless talent and sharp mind make him a fast learner and natural seaman. Spending most of his time diligently training with his blades, Keith is second to none in a sword fight and is practically never seen without his Galra saber. After basically being the reason for getting the crew together, Keith is finally able to live out his childhood dreams of being part of a crew.
Hunk Garrett
And last but certainly not least is Hunk, The Voltron’s Boatswain. In charge of all of the ship’s equipment and stocks, Hunk holds one of the most integral roles on the ship, making sure the sails are rigged, the anchors weighed, and the Jolly Roger is high. Oh, and that his crewmates never go without a hearty meal! The ever humble and caring Hunk is less of a ‘thieving pirate’ and more of a 'Robin Hood’ to those in need. At every port The Voltron makes, Hunk is sure to make the most of his shore leave and give away a pretty portion of his share of the latest plunder to those who need it more than he.
